The original croft house of THE SHIELINGS GUEST HOUSE is about 100 years old. More recently it has been extended but retains the original character both inside and out.
Our garden attracts all manner of wildlife, birds both large and small, rabbits, hares and the occasional cow!
Our central location makes us an ideal base from which to explore the Island. We would be happy to advise you on things to see and places to go, so that you may enjoy your stay to the full.
The name THE SHIELINGS refers to dwellings occupied during the summer months when cattle used to be taken from the seashore to higher pastures. This was generally a warm relaxed and happy time. We hope to continue this tradition.
We offer 4 cosy bedrooms, 3 with double beds and 1 with twin beds. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities plus colour TV and tea & coffee making facilities.
We are one of the few establishments in this area to offer evening meals. This facility is entirely optional, though it needs to be booked in advance.
We are open all year round, except for Christmas & New Year.
Both the residents' lounge and dining room face south towards views of the Cuillin and MacLeod's Tables.
Prices based on two people sharing a room.
