Langal is a croft house Bed & Breakfast on a working croft on the shores of Loch Harport with views to the North West towards some of the most beautiful scenery and sunsets in the west of Scotland and Southerly views towards the majestic Cuillin Hills which boasts eleven Munros along its ridge and according to the mountaineers and hillwalkers that come to stay is the most challenging rock climbing and scrambling that they have ever experienced and is always a reason for celebration every evening at the local Inn.

Langal is also an ideal base for touring the whole of the Island, for which we can supply maps with places of interest to visit.

Langal has luxuriously appointed rooms with a choice of Double or Twin Beds & en-suite available. An extensive breakfast menu is available to choose from whether you prefer a full Scottish breakfast or Continental. We also cater for vegetarians.

Local Activities

Langal is well placed for beautiful coastal and hill walking and rock climbing as we are only a 10 minute drive from Glenbrittle or Sligachan the main starting points for your outdoor experience in the Cuillin Hills.

A 10 minute walk takes you to the famous Talisker Distillery, one of the six classic malts of Scotland and the Island's only distillery.

For anyone who enjoys a round of golf there are two courses to choose from.

If fishing is your hobby why not try a cast from one of our local rivers or hill lochs or even some sea fishing from the old distillery pier. A perfect way to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and maybe watch some of the wildlife around our shores, otters, seals, herons, sea eagles, etc.

Services

We have a purpose built drying room for walkers, climbers and cyclists or any guests with wet boots and clothing that might get caught out in the occasional shower of rain. The charge is £1 per person per night.

We provide a laundry service for our guests. Prices arranged on request.

Packed Lunches are available by prior arrangement and depending on requirements we charge approx. £4.00 per person.

How To Find Langal

From Kyle of Lochalsh and the Skye Bridge

• After crossing bridge turn right at roundabout towards Broadford.
• Continue on A87 for 16 miles to Sligachan Hotel.
• Turn left onto A863 towards Dunvegan.
• Travel 5 miles to the Minginish junction turn left onto B8009 for Carbost.
• Approx. 3 miles you will see the sign for Langal on your right beside the small white church overlooking the Loch.

From the Mallaig - Armadale Ferry

• Travel along A851 towards Broadford.
• Turn left onto A87 and continue as above.
