Fernlea is a modern house of character, situated in an elevated position midway between Broadford and the Skye Bridge. There are views across the water to the islands of Raasay, Scalpay, Pabay and the Crowlin Islands.
There is a quiet sandy beach just 5 minutes away which is a bird watcher's paradise.
Convenient for all local restaurants and amenities, Fernlea makes a good base from which to tour the whole of Skye.
On arrival at Fernlea we welcome guests with complimentary refreshments of tea or coffee, etc. Home baking.
The area abounds in wildlife. Deer come into the garden and ducks and herons visit the pond.
The double bedded room with adjacent private bathroom is large enough to take an extra bed if needed.
All rooms have hospitality tray, hair dryer, T.V, Radio/ alarm clock.
Wireless Internet connection available.
There is a residents lounge with open fire and T.V. The lounge has views across the garden to the sea.
There is central heating throughout the house.
Private off-road parking. Interesting gardens for our guests to enjoy.
We accept pets by prior arrangement. Pets are not allowed in the public rooms, for the comfort of other guests.
Fernlea is a non smoking establishment, but there are seats outside at the front where smokers can sit and enjoy the sea and garden view.
Prices vary according to the time of year.
From £30.00 each person, each night for double occupancy.
Single occupancy rate on application.
Payment by cheque on a UK bank, or cash, please. Please note that we do not take Credit Cards.
Season: Open all year round, except Christmas.

Via the Skye BridgeCross the bridge. Turn right at the roundabout. Travel north on the A87 towards Broadford for 4½ miles. Fernlea is signposted on the lefthand side of the road, immediately by a triangular shaped road sign indicating lefthand bend. The house is elevated at the end of a short approach road. Via Armadale FerryTravel up the A851 towards Broadford. Turn right onto the A87. After approximately 3 miles Fernlea is signposted on the righthand side of the road, approx. 100 metres after a sharp righthand bend. The house is elevated at the end of a short approach road. The nearby village of Broadford provides bank, Post Office, supermarket, bakery, 24 hour laundrette, petrol station. There are several restaurants within very easy distances from Fernlea.
