Marble Hollow is situated between the Black and Red Cuillins in the picturesque village of Torrin on the Isle of Skye. This spacious accommodation provides an ideal base for exploring one of Skye’s most scenic areas.

Possible activities include boat trips from Elgol to the heart of the Cuillins or from Broadford to see the seals on Pabay, lazing on or exploring beaches and a wide range of walks and climbs on and around Blaven and the other nearby Skye hills and mountains. The area also provides opportunities to enjoy the natural wildlife including otters, birds and deer as well as a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Accommodation

The house itself, built in May 2004, is fully furnished and provides a comfortable place for groups, friends and families alike. With beds for 10 people – 2 bunkrooms and a double room – there is plenty of space to work and relax.

Each bedroom has its own TV and VCR, hairdryer, under bed storage, bedside table/shelf and wardrobe. All bed linen and towels are provided.

There is a bath/shower room and a shower room, both with toilet and wash hand basin.

In the entrance/utility room there is a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and plenty of space for jackets, shoes and boots.

The rest of the house is open plan and consists of a large kitchen/dining area with 2 separate gas stoves with double ovens, 3 fridges, freezer and loads of cupboard space. All kitchen utensils, etc. are provided.

The living room has a TV (with SKYE BOX), VCR, DVD, CD/tape/radio stereo and 3 large settees.

There is a payphone in the corridor for guests to use during their stay.

Outside the house is a fenced garden area with a washing line and a patio area with large benches/tables (to seat up to 16 people) if you fancy sitting outside to relax, enjoy the views or have a BBQ. There is parking space for up to 6 cars adjacent to the house.

Located a short walk away from the house is a separate building suitable for drying wet gear and storing bicycles.

Shops, laundrette, bank, post office and medical facilities are available in Broadford.

The owners, who live nearby, ensure that everything is maintained to a high standard and can be called upon to provide assistance to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

Please note there is a strict non-smoking policy within the house..

All electricity and gas are included in the price. A non-returnable deposit of 20% of the total is payable to confirm your booking, the remainder to be paid on arrival.

Please plan to arrive after 4pm and to leave by 10am on the last day of your stay. If you plan to arrive later please telephone to let us know.

Directions

Once you arrive on the Isle of Skye take the A87 to Broadford, turning off at the Broadford Hotel and head towards Elgol. This road is the B8083 (marked as the A881 on some maps). Torrin is approximately 6 miles along this single track road.

When you reach Torrin (look out for the signpost on the left hand side of the road, by the entrance to the Skye Marble Quarry) turn off the main road taking the tarmac drive on the left when you see the sign for 9 TORRIN HOLIDAYS. Go through the gate and park to the left. Follow the path (on foot) until you see a sign for RECEPTION.
